Mamanopal (2018) is a video installation of a continuous hair series. I learned that by removing hair that is "indigenous" to the body I was able to abide to the beauty that is acceptable and normalized in modern America. This video is in connection to my personal disassociation with hair ritual and cultural beauty standards. By connecting to my aboriginal self, I was able to remove the concept Eurocentric beauty standards that were placed in my life since I was a child. Mamanopal is a form of personal identity rather than a person or a deity. She is a representative of  the weight of Eurocentricity and creates her own rituals of beauty.
